Deluxe Corporation Thursday, May 22, 2008 (7:30 - 10:00 AM) At its 115,000 square foot Streetsboro location, 300 Deluxe employees manufacturer small business checks and forms. DELUXE Corporation, Streetsboro began its Lean journey in 2000. The facility made significant operational improvements, including the introduction of cellular work teams into many of the product areas. During a period of time from 2003 - 2006 several acquisitions were made that delayed the Lean transformation. Beginning in 2006 with a new CEO, D Corporation and the Streetsboro facility resumed the Lean journey in earnest with a focused emphasis on education and a more streamlined approach to implementation. We have gone back to basics with 5S+1, waste reduction, employee Lean communications and the development of Lean Champions. We have also added a Steering Committee, reviewed our current cells for improvement and set our Roadmap for the future. The results have been impressive. In 2000, the Streetsboro plant shipped 7,000 orders per day and employed 275 employees. As a result of Lean implementation, today the plant ships 17,000 orders per day and has 290 employees. Over 90% of the orders ship with-in 48 hours. Kevin Buck, Deluxe Streetsboro Site Leader and his team will describe the Deluxe Streetsboro facility current state, future plans and tour of the Facility. |
