In business, with competition from both domestic and foreign sources, there is little room for labor management disharmony in today's workplace. In education, with pressures to improve student performance and operating efficiencies coming from multiple fronts, union representatives and administrators must work together to improve the overall performance of their school systems.

Though labor and management, unions and administrators, may have each their own missions, it is vital that they share in a common vision for their organizations. The experienced labor and management professionals of WINOC have formulated this all-day workshop to to create understanding of the need for collaborative work systems and creation of a continuous improvement environment.

Joint attendance by both union and management representatives is strongly encouraged. Register early - space is limited.

Who should attend? Union leaders, admistrators, and human resource professionals from business, government, healthcare and education.

Participants will gain: (1) an improvement in the lines of communication between your labor leaders and managers, (2) an understanding of the roles of labor leaders and managers in the pursuit of continuous improvement, (3) a foundation for employee involvement in the implementation of high-performance collaborative work systems, and (4) improved cooperation within the public and the private sectors' workplace.

The agenda will focus on identifying the benefits and risks of collaborative work systems. The common goals of labor and management will be identified. The basic elements of high performance and the importance of quality and productivity improvement will be discussed. You will learn how to evaluate your own level of cooperation and begin to form a plan for successful change.
